SANTORUM MAKES STUFF UP

Rick Santorum claimed that 10% of deaths in the Netherlands are by euthanasia and half of those are involuntary. He further claimed that the elderly are scared to go to hospital and wear bracelets saying “Don’t euthanize me”. Santorum and his campaign have offered no evidence for these claims.

Official records show that around 2% of deaths in the Netherlands are by euthanasia, so Santorum is lying.

Why does he lie? Because he suffers from a psychiatric disorder – ‘religious’ zealotry. He would trample our constitutionally warranteed rights to foist his religious “values” on us.

NOTE: In a 2008 speech to Ave Maria University Santorum referred to Satan as “The Father of Lies” which means that Santorum is …… I’ll let you decide.

GINGRICH WRONG AGAIN

Newt Gingrich has decided that the right way to decide on gay marriage is by referendum. As an opponent of gay marriage he has presumably settled on this because so far every referendum has denied marriage to gays.

Does he believe that if the majority vote against it, interracial marriage should be banned? What about third marriages? Can we vote blacks to the back of the bus? Of course not. A civil right exists in the Constitution and law. It is not decided by a caprice of the majority.

Gingrich should understand that numerous marriages do not make you an expert on marriage, but they do make you a poor spokesman for its sanctity.

A MARRIAGE PROPOSAL

One way of separating marriage as a social and economic contract from marriage as a religious institution would be to change the process of getting married. In France all marriages start with a civil ceremony, which creates the legal entity. Couples are than free to have the religious service of their choice or none at all.

ROMNEY STILL OUT OF TOUCH

To burnish his ‘America First’ credentials in Detroit Mitt Romney told a crowd that all his cars are American. As he said “I drive my Mustang and a Chevy pickup truck and Ann [his wife] drives a couple of Cadillacs”. Obviously to a man of his wealth Cadillacs are chump change, but to the average Joe, one is a luxury, let alone “a couple”.

Fresh off her infamous finger in the President’s face, Jan Brewer, Governor of Arizona, has thumbed her nose at the Senate. Invited by Senator Schumer (D-NY) to defend Arizona’s controversial immigration law. Brewer declined; saying it was a publicity stunt.

She tells the President to get lost

Jan Brewer said: “I will always look for an opportunity to sit down with the president, always.” Then she received an invitation to attend a formal dinner at the White House for the nation’s Governors. Citing a ‘scheduling conflict’, she turned it down.

Brewer told David Gregory on ‘Meet the Press’ that President Obama wants illegal aliens to come here. She asks why the President secures borders everywhere except the one with Mexico. I wonder which borders she is talking about?

Perhaps she misses George W. Bush. Except conservatives hated his ‘guest worker’ program. Pat Robertson said “I think he’s committed an impeachable offense in refusing to enforce the immigration laws and in failing to uphold the Constitution by defending the states against this invasion,”

Maybe she would prefer we return to the Reagan policies. Except he signed the ‘Immigration Reform and Control Act 1986′ granting amnesty to illegal aliens.

It is an intractable difficulty. After all immigration has been a long term problem in America, just ask the Indians.

AND IT’S NOT JUST JAN BREWER

It seems that no claim is too extreme if it supports your position. Santorum’s creationism on euthanasia statistics started us off. Let Steve King (R-IA) bring us to an end.

In 2006 King claimed that 12 people were murdered every day by illegal aliens and 13 were killed by drunk illegal alien drivers. That is an annual total of 4,380 murders and 4,745 drunk driving deaths or 26% of both murders and drunk driving fatalities (an interesting coincidence?).

As estimates put the illegal population at about 4% of the total that would make them extraordinarily busy (especially as so many of them are anchor babies).
