Joe Biden said of Donald Trump’s debate performance “I’ve never seen anybody who knew as few facts.” Consider that this is a man who debated Sarah Palin.

Fox contributor A. B. Stoddard makes an incisive point. While Trump complains about the media’s fairness and sources, he doesn’t take the next step. “He’ll rail against the reporter or the story, but he’ll never ask for corrections and dispute any facts as untrue.”

The GOP had to admit that President Obama was right about something. He had veto’ed a bill that allowed Americans to sue the Saudi Arabian government in American courts over 9/11. Obama warned that it set a precedent that put American soldiers in jeopardy abroad.

Congress (both parties) paying attention to politics, not good sense, overrode the veto. But in the cold light of day GOP leaders (who had introduced the stupidity in the first place) admitted they were open to rewriting the bill. Then they went home.

Donald Trump has lost his mind. Hillary Clinton called him unhinged. His fellow Republicans doubt his sanity. In the early hours, he provided another example of his lunacy. Prolonging his assault on the ex-Miss Universe, Alicia Machado, he  tweeted a demand that his followers check out her ‘sex tape’.

His handlers have tried to keep him ‘on message’. But only Trump can think that referring to sex tapes (fake, by the way) is presidential. He tried to spin his grade-school behavior. “For those few people knocking me for tweeting at three o’clock in the morning, at least you know I will be there, awake, to answer the call!”

But insanity is insanity even if it’s awake 24/7.

We all know that politicians spin, obfuscate, prevaricate – and over the years the media has chided them with euphemistic language. But Trump’s disregard for the truth is so blatant that the New York Times accused him of “outright lies“.

Politico put to rest the conservative meme that Hillary is somehow worse than Trump. “Trump’s mishandling of facts and propensity for exaggeration so greatly exceed Clinton’s as to make the comparison almost ludicrous.”

The Washington Post outlined one week of Trump’s “dubious statements in ‘alternative universe’”. The Los Angeles Times published an article headlined: “Scope of Trump’s falsehoods unprecedented for a modern presidential candidate.”

Does President Trump Worry Democrats or Republicans More?

September 29, 2016

Trump’s debate. Trump has made progress in the polls. His new management team has kept him relatively on message. His speeches have been more coherent. Republicans who had held him at arm’s length warmed to the idea that their candidate might win. The Senate looked safer. And the #NeverTrump movement became marginalized. Then he debated. What effect Trump’s […]

Trump’s Utopia: A Fact-Free Imaginary Eden.

September 28, 2016

Donald Trump is a second-rate human being – whose greatest talent is the ability to bring out the worst in the people who support him. His fan base is proudly ignorant and reflexively racist. They don’t think. They don’t need policies, logic or truth. They treat politics like a NASCAR race – boring except for the […]

Trump Couldn’t Be Bothered to Study.

September 27, 2016

Donald Trump believes the road to the White House is paved with insults. Doing the work needed to prepare for a debate – let alone the presidency – is beyond him. He knows little. He isn’t ready to learn more. And he is convinced that he knows better than people who have been studying their specialty […]

Donald Trump Redux. The Grade-Schooler Is Back.

September 18, 2016

Donald Trump had a good week, while Hillary Clinton stumbled – literally and figuratively. Trump clung to his teleprompter. And his poll numbers started looking much better. Colin Powell Calls Trump a “National Disgrace” & Other Thoughts.

September 14, 2016

Colin Powell is known as a man of rectitude. But beneath his public facade, he is quite the chatty Cathy. The (unAmerican) Value Voters Summit.

September 9, 2016

The Value Voters Summit is one in a series of Orwellian named conservative/Christian love fests. This time around the sanctimonious have descended on DC to spew the de rigueur homophobic, xenophobic, racist misogyny they so enjoy.
