Really? – 8.6.17 – NRA threats; Fox’s Weiner; Medvedev Has His Fun; Pence the Sanctimonious Git; Gingrich Racist.

in Really?

You know the NRA is nervous. They wheeled out Dana Loesch to make a hysterical (in any sense you want) video threatening the NY Times that the NRA is “coming for you”. The apocalyptic message lost some of its sting when a debate erupted over whether Loesch claimed she would ‘fisk’ or ‘fist’ the Times (look it up).

What will it profit them? The gun zealots are already firmly in their corner. The NY Times has no power to seize their weapons. Anyone who might think the New York Times is a miserable rag already does. And every time Trump blasted the print media their subscriber count increased.

I can only think that the NRA feels it’s losing its electoral relevance.

Now that Eric Bolling has been revealed as a dick pic kind of guy, Fox News will be able to keep their weiner stories in-house.

Russian Prime Minister, Dmitry Medvedev, has taken to Twitter to wind up Trump. First tweeting, “The Trump administration has shown its total weakness by handing over executive power to Congress in the most humiliating way”. Then adding, “The US establishment fully outwitted Trump. The President is not happy about the sanctions, yet he could not but sign the bill”.

While Dmitry has his little jabs, he can rest assured that while Trump is both incompetent and ineffective, the US intelligence services and military are not.

Trump has no secrets. Everyone knows he’s a misogynistic, sociopath with a personality disorder – with no loyalty to friends and partners – and an inability to tell the truth. But his running mate is cut from a different cloth. Mike Pence wears his sanctimony as a badge of honor.

But he is a snake in the grass, with a distinguished record of lying and cheating. So when the NY Times reported that Pence is putting a team together for a putative run for his boss’s job in 2020 it was unsurprising he denied it – vehemently. Saying, the story was, “disgraceful and offensive to me, my family, and our entire team.”

Psychologists know well that the more exuberance the denial is, the greater the insincerity.

First Alan Dershowitz and now Newt Gingrich have criticized Robert Mueller for impaneling his Grand Jury in Washington. Their complaint is that the residents of DC didn’t vote for Trump. The code is blatant. They don’t think blacks will give the white guy a fair shake.

Only racists assume that others are racist. And neither of these guys has presented any evidence that the residents of DC will do anything but weigh the evidence fairly.
