November 2017

Ralph Shortey was a State Senator from Oklahoma. As a Republican, he ran proudly as a ‘family values’ candidate — adding the usual homophobic vitriol to the stew. In the state Senate, he voted on the typical anti-gay nonsense, as well the standard anti-immigrant, pro-gun measures. So far a run-of-the-mill conservative in the Bible Belt.

He did achieve notoriety, however, for a bill he introduced in 2012 that would have banned the use of aborted fetuses in food. Because, apparently, that is a concern in Oklahoma. I kid. Even Sooner lawmakers realized that was nuts.

And that’s not the end of it. Shortey was married to his high-school sweetheart, with whom he fathered four daughters. But despite his moralistic rhetoric, he also lusted after teen boys. And not just in his heart.

This paragon of hypocritical sanctimony was busted in a Super 8 (cheap bastard) with a 17-year-old boy after the teen’s girlfriend followed him there and alerted his father — who called the police.

The purpose of the assignation was made clear by Shortey and the youth in messages exchanged on the app Kik:

Teen: “I need money for spring break.”

Shortey: “I don’t really have any legitimate things I need help with right now. Would you be interested in ‘sexual’ stuff?”

Teen: “Yes.”

And just in case there was any doubt as to the reason for the rendezvous, Shortey had an open pack of condoms on him and the teenager a bottle of lotion.

The evidence was so overwhelming that Shortey pled guilty to a child sex trafficking offense in exchange for prosecutors dropping three child pornography counts against him. We’ll never know what else the detestable Shortey was up to because further he:

“will not be further prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Oklahoma for any crimes related to his transportation, possession or production of child pornography or child sex trafficking during the period from October 2013 through March 9, 2017.”

Nevertheless, Shortey will serve a minimum of 10 years in jail — and still faces life. Thank God.

L. Ron Hubbard said: “You don’t get rich writing science fiction, If you want to get rich, you start a religion”. And then he founded Scientology and proved it. But if you lack the imagination to start a new religion, you can just take an existing one and pervert it. Jim Bakker, one of God’s leading grifters […]

Christian ‘Family Values’ Conservative Resigns After Sex in the Office With Another Man.

November 16, 2017

Ohio State Rep. Wes Goodman is another in a long line of social conservatives who ‘know’ what’s best for everybody else. Roy Moore Is Still Alabama’s Most Likely Next Senator.

November 12, 2017

Republicans have to deal with a Senate candidate, Roy Moore, who has been accused of plying girls with alcohol and touching them up. In Alabama the local GOP’s answer is simple. They deny he did it and besides most of the accusers were at least 16 – so fair game for a 30-something. And that’s if the […]

Trump’s Mar-a-Lago has been given 70 H-B2 visas to hire temporary foreign hospitality staff for the 2017/18 winter season. They will be paid from $10.33 (for cleaners) to $13.34 (for cooks). The GOP Tax Cuts Are Just More Voodoo, Trickle-down, ‘Hurt the Worker’ Cynicism.

November 2, 2017

Republicans are shameless liars — especially when it comes to selling corporate care as populism. Take their tax cut bill. The cherry on the cupcake is the cut of the corporate tax rate from 35% to 20%. This cash-back to business is sold as a ‘job creator’ and ‘wage booster’ — but the real beneficiaries […]
