Christian ‘Family Values’ Conservative Resigns After Sex in the Office With Another Man.

Ohio State Rep. Wes Goodman is another in a long line of social conservatives who ‘know’ what’s best for everybody else. But like so many of God’s cultural jihadists he can’t bring himself to play by his own rules.

Wes Goodman discovers the heart wants what the heart wants.

Goodman has resigned from his Ohio House seat after he was caught in his office cheating on his wife — with another man. Now let it be said that from a legal point of view he has done nothing wrong. There is every indication the sex was consensual, between two adults, who didn’t work together.

However, in Goodman’s philosophy, he is at least a two-time sinner — adulterer with a gay kicker. Especially as on his campaign website (now taken down) he expressed his view of families — which he has made clear is restricted to heterosexual couples:

“healthy, vibrant, thriving, values-driven families are the source of Ohio’s proud history,”

Goodman trotted out the usual boilerplate offered by the hypocritical conservative caught with his pants down:

“We all bring our own struggles and our own trials into public life. That has been true for me, and I sincerely regret that my actions and choices have kept me from serving my constituents and our state in a way that reflects the best ideals of public service,” he said in a statement. “For those whom I have let down, I’m sorry. As I move onto the next chapter of my life, I sincerely ask for privacy for myself, my family, and my friends.”

I think that all of us agree that ‘healthy, vibrant, thriving, values-driven families’ are a fine thing. And that many of those families are well headed by same-sex parents.

All I can say to Goodman is, love the one who your heart tells you to love (age appropriate). It’ll make you happier. It will make him happier. And it would have been fairer to your wife if you had been honest with yourself in the first place. She could have chosen someone who really believes in healthy, vibrant, thriving, values-driven families.
