If you thought it was the gunman who was responsible for killing five Dallas policemen you haven’t being paying enough attention to conservatives. While they don’t agree on exactly whose fault it is, you can see a theme developing.

It was Obama.

In Rep. Roger Williams (R-TX) estimation, “The spread of misinformation and constant instigation by prominent leaders, including our president, have contributed to the modern day hostility we are witnessing between the police and those they serve”.

Rep. Steve King (R-IA), as usual, didn’t fail to contribute some well-considered nonsense, tweeting: #DallasPoliceShooting has roots in first of anti-white/cop events illuminated by Obama…Officer Crowley. There were others.” (Crowley was the cop in the Prof. Louis Gates brouhaha – remember the beer summit?)

Some conservatives threatened violence. Joe Walsh ex-GOP Congressman tweeted “3 Dallas Cops Killed, 7 wounded. This is now war. Watch out Obama. Watch out black lives matter punks. Real America is coming for you.” (Since deleted)

Note: “Real Americans” are all people born here or naturalized citizens – not just white, rural conservatives.

William Johnson, the executive director of the National Association of Police Organizations had this on Fox News:

“The Obama administration is the Neville Chamberlain of this war. I think their continued appeasement at the federal level with the Department of Justice, their appeasement of violent criminals, their refusal to condemn movements like Black Lives Matter, actively calling for the death of police officers, that type of thing, all the while blaming police for the problems in this country has led directly to the climate that has made Dallas possible.”

It was Hillary Clinton.

Corey Stewart, Virginia state chair for Trump’s campaign took to Facebook to throw up on himself. “Liberal politicians who label police as racists—specifically Hillary Clinton and Virginia Lt. Governor Ralph Northam—are to blame for essentially encouraging the murder of these police officers tonight,”

It was Black Lives Matter.

The Drudge Report was blunt – if completely wrong – “Black Lives Kill, 4 Cops Shot Dead in Dallas, City in Shock.”

The Blaze’s Tomi Lahren tweeted, “Meet the new KKK, they call themselves ‘Black Lives Matter’ but make no mistake their goals are far from equality. #Dallas #bluelivesmatter,” (Since deleted)

Sarah Palin, professional gadfly, took the incident to foist her special brand of fantastical sociology on America. This on Facebook:

“Shame on our culture’s influencers who would stir contention and division that could lead to evil such as that in Dallas. Shame on politicians and pundits giving credence to thugs rioting against police officers and the rule of law in the name of ‘peaceful protests,’ It is a farce. #BlackLivesMatter is a farce.”

For Palin the fact that the Dallas protests against police killing black men were peaceful is an ignorable truth. Because who should you believe? Her, or our lying eyes?

It was Elizabeth Warren.

Conservative writer Donn Marten has his instigator in chief:

“Democratic party nominee Hillary Clinton’s hatchet-woman Elizabeth Warren may as well be an accomplice in the now out of control outbreak of racial violence in America that resulted in the calculated murder of at least five Dallas police officers on Thursday,” Marten wrote. “Pocahontas sought to exploit emotions in a dangerous way in the aftermath of the unfortunate shooting of a black man by Minneapolis police.”

It was the Media.

More stupidity from Sarah Plain:

“Media: quit claiming the rioters are “peaceful” as they stomp on our flag, shout “death to cops!” and celebrate violence. It is sick. You perpetuate a perverted message evil men thrive on to intimidate and warp malleable minds that would believe one race matters more than another. Blood is on your complicit hands when you naively or purposefully refuse to tell of this movement’s truth.”

I could go on, but it doesn’t get any better.

“Hatred is the coward’s revenge for being intimidated” ― George Bernard Shaw. Like many chickenhawks, Scott Walker’s solution to the Middle East’s troubles may involve a reinvasion of the area. If it is that critical, will Walker’s two military age sons enlist? Or would Walker just throw other people’s children in harms way? I think […]

For Bigotry to Flourish, Its Victims Must Be Stripped of their Humanity

May 16, 2015

“You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view — until you climb into his skin and walk around in it.” Harper Lee – ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’. Racism, xenophobia, and other bigotry are easy when you do not see people as individuals – but only as part of a […]

Will Cell Phones Change Police Culture?

April 11, 2015

“Facts are stubborn things, and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passion, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence” ― John Adams. The Walter Scott shooting may turn out to be a watershed moment in American policing. Unlike the Michael Brown killing, there is video. And unlike […]

There is no vaccine against stupidity. Anti-vaxxers are generally liberal, but Fox News will never be left far behind when it comes to idiocy. Andrea Tantaros – speculating on vaccinations in light of the measles outbreak – trotted out the latest autism/vaccination inanity. As there is no evidence that the ingredients of the MMR vaccine cause […]

February 1, 2015

Mike Huckabee says that  gay marriage for Christians is like forcing a Jewish deli owner to serve bacon wrapped shrimp. It is a specious argument. Nobody is forcing Christian clergy to perform gay marriages. Nor are they mandating that Christians have same-sex marriages. Perhaps Huckabee is alluding to the Christian baker forced to bake cakes […]
